Coach Bolton started wrestling in 9th grade and immediately fell in love with the sport. By his second year, he already knew he wanted to become a coach just like his role model, Coach Shane Anderson.

He went on to wrestle at Darton State Junior College and Kennesaw State University, and then began searching for a school where he could start coaching.

The first stop was Wheeler High! Even though there were only 3 wrestlers on the team, all 3 placed at State for the first time that year.

Next, Bolton joined the team at Harrison High as an assistant coach to Coach Jeffery Crocker. He then returned home to coach his brother’s last 2 years of high school wrestling, culminating in his brother placing 5th as a Junior and a State Finalist as a Senior. (Their only loss was the State Finals match, which the family still cries about!)

We are so happy that Coach Bolton has joined the Lakeside Wrestling Team to lead us this season.
